Pupils explore how this diversity of structure helps the plants in their reproductive process.
Pupils learn how to carefully dissect a flower and use a variety of magnification including microscopes to explore their structures.
Learning outcomes
We design our sessions to match the learning outcomes in the national curriculum. All our sessions have a cross-curricular approach and are tailored to suit the educational needs of your group. We aim to give pupils opportunities to work scientifically in areas that are difficult or impossible to create in the school environment.
This session offers pupils the opportunity to:
- Use magnifying lenses and microscopes to look at a variety of flowers and other parts of plants
- Investigate flower structure
- Identify structures which make up a flower
- Relate flower structure to the process of pollination.
