Overview
Why identify plants? Pupils will become Kew plant scientists by exploring, investigating, grouping and identifying a variety of trees, common wild and garden plants at Kew.
This session will be delivered outside in the Gardens.
Learning outcomes
Pupils will be able to:
- Use their observational skills to help them identify and name a variety of common wild and garden plants, including deciduous and evergreen trees.
- Use descriptive and scientific language to compare and group different plants and trees.
- Identify distinct features of plants and trees – trunk, stem, leaf, flowers, seeds.
We will ensure the learning outcomes focus on the year group taking part.
