Kick off the day by learning how science capital can enhance your teaching, then head outside to learn how to engage pupils through outdoor learning. 

After lunch it’s your chance to explore the learning opportunities in the Gardens at your own pace, followed by a subject masterclass of your choice. Simply select which masterclass you want during the booking process.

    Science capital

    The more science-related experiences someone gains during their life, the more confident they are in engaging with and participating in science. Discover how to include science capital in your lessons to inspire pupils to see science as relevant to their lives.

    Learning outside the classroom – Useful plants

    Step into the shoes of a KS2 pupil and take part in an outdoor learning activity investigating how we use plants from the rainforest. Gain useful techniques for teaching outdoors and get to grips with managing groups outside the classroom.

    Self-led trail

    Explore our iconic site at your own pace with Kew’s self-led trail.  Complete the activities to increase your knowledge and understanding of plants, consider opportunities for learning with your pupils, as well as enjoying seasonal highlights in the Gardens.

    Subject-specific masterclass

    Brush up on your knowledge while learning some tips and tricks to deliver these subjects at school or outside the classroom. Choose from Evolution, Plant Science, Plant Adaptations, Biodiversity, Climate Change or Classification.
