Tours start at the Guide meeting point near the Stables Kitchen and run on a first-come, first-served basis


Included with entry to the gardens

About the tour

The guides will concentrate on the ornamental gardens close to the Elizabethan Mansion, looking at plants of seasonal interest as well as explaining some of the history of the house and gardens.

They will also talk about RBG Kew’s conservation work being undertaken by the science and horticultural teams across the Millennium Seed Bank, nursery and landscape.

Guides at Wakehurst are all dedicated volunteers with a wide knowledge and passion for the gardens.

The free tour is designed for individuals and families, whether it’s your first time visiting or you're a regular to the gardens wanting to learn more.

Important information

Please note, due to COVID 19 regulations the group sizes are limited to six, including the guides themselves. A social distance of 2m will be maintained at all times.
