I recently joined the Kew Madagascar Conservation Centre (KMCC) as a PhD student working on the identification and trade in the endemic succulent diversity of Madagascar.

My research will focus on the understanding of the scale of legal and illegal trade in Malagasy succulent plants, particularly in global online marketplaces, and finding smart solutions such as automated identification tools for high-priority species. The work will bring suggestions for the future conservation of the species and will be used to reinforce current CITES policies.

Besides my PhD project, I have strong interests in plant-insect interactions, ecosystem services, and human-wellbeing.
