Anna Ralaiveloarisoa

I am interested in the diversity and evolution of Agaricales (Basidiomycota), the largest order of mushroom forming fungi including many important decomposers and ectomycorrhizal fungal genera.

My role is to collect and identify specimens from threatened areas, using an integrated taxonomic approach combining morphological and DNA-data.

Currently, I am focusing on Malagasy fungi which is poorly known, and my goals are to:

  • Create identification keys for Agaricales of Madagascar
  • Build resources and capacity for the future studies of fungal taxonomy in Madagascar.
  • Create baseline data of fungi to increase capacity in Madagascar for conserving and enhancing biodiversity and natural capital.
