Youth Community and Outreach

Get involved in our creative workshops and projects to discover new ways to explore Kew and our work.

Young people standing in the Temperate House at Kew

We run activities and events for youth groups who are members of our Community Access Scheme, and young people who might otherwise face physical, sensory, psychological or social barriers to visiting Kew.

All sessions are free. Booking is necessary for some events as places may be limited.

Kew in Focus

Join us for creative photography sessions at Kew. Explore the gardens and discover Kew’s collections up close through exciting experiments with photography.

Youth groups taking part receive two workshops delivered at their community space and in the Gardens at Kew. Sessions are free to book and all equipment is provided.

We arrange dates to suit the needs of your group, so please get in touch via email at youth@kew.org if you would like to participate in this programme.

CPD workshops for group leaders

We offer continual professional development (CPD) opportunities for group leaders who are interested in visiting Kew with their young people and want to explore creative ways to engage young people with plant science, conservation and the natural world.

Dates for upcoming CPD workshops:

  • Thursday 11 May 2023, Kew Gardens
  • Thursday 12 October 2023, Kew Gardens

To book please email youth@kew.org
