Earthwise: Kew's summer programme application form

Join other young people from across London to learn all about ecology, biodiversity and conservation at our week-long summer programme.

Thank you for applying to Earthwise: Kew’s Summer Programme.

This week-long programme is open to young people across London aged 14 to 17. It will run on Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August and Monday 5 to Friday 9 August 2024, each day from 10.30am to 3.30pm. There are 20 places available for each week.

Earthwise is free to attend and all sessions will include lunch and snacks. Participants are also able to claim travel expenses for up to £13.90 per day.

Applicants must live in the Greater London area and will need written consent from a parent or guardian to attend.

The deadline for applications is Friday 24 May 2024.

Applicants will also need to ask a teacher, or other responsible adult (not a family member), to provide a reference to support their application to the programme using the Teacher Reference Form.

We are aiming to offer places to young people who will benefit most from the programme, including those who might not have previously visited Kew or had similar opportunities in the past. We will let applicants know whether they have been successful by Friday 21 June 2024.

Please remember to ask a teacher or other responsible adult to complete a letter of recommendation. This is required in order for your application to be considered complete.

Data protection and declaration

RBG, Kew will use your information to review and process your application to Earthwise. Using the information provided in this form, RBG, Kew may contact you about your application and you will be notified regarding the success of your application. Contact will be via the details you've provided and secondary contact and will include sharing news about your application.

If the your application is not successful, RBG, Kew will securely store your personal information until the end of August, when the summer programme will take place. This is so we can contact you in the event of a space becoming available for you to participate in the programme. After this time we will remove your personal information from our system.
