Immerse yourself in a celebration of Costa Rica’s vibrant colours, culture and magnificent plant life at Orchids After Hours.

Enjoy exclusive after-dark access to the tropical paradise of the Princess of Wales Conservatory and wander amongst the vibrant displays of orchids.

Sample cocktails and street food, and take in a slice of Costa Rican culture – from music and performance to artist Dino Urpí’s Ethereal Nature, a new installation that explores the balance, beauty and harmony of the natural world.

Trace your way through the country’s landscape, from the southern shores where the Pacific Ocean laps its world-renowned beaches, to the northern coastline that looks out onto the Caribbean Sea.

There will be stunning horticultural displays featuring native animals including monkeys, sea turtles and the resplendent quetzal, a bird native to Costa Rica that has become a symbol for the protection of the country’s forests.

Discover Costa Rica’s national flower Guarianthe skinneri, which will be on display in its vibrant pink glory, and learn about Kew scientists’ work with local experts to understand and protect the wonderful wildlife of Costa Rica – one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.
