INFLORESCENCE Inflorescence a panicle.
Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled.
FERTILE SPIKELETS Spikelets comprising 3 fertile florets (2), or 4 fertile florets, or 5–6 fertile florets (1); with diminished florets at the apex. Spikelets oblong, or ovate (1); laterally compressed; 2–4.083–6 mm long; breaking up at maturity; disarticulating below each fertile floret. Rhachilla internodes definite.
GLUMES Glumes persistent; shorter than spikelet; thinner than fertile lemma. Lower glume ovate; 0.75 length of upper glume; membranous; without keels; 1 -veined. Lower glume lateral veins absent. Lower glume surface without pits. Lower glume apex obtuse. Upper glume ovate; 0.3–0.5033–0.66 length of adjacent fertile lemma; membranous; without keels; 3 -veined. Upper glume apex obtuse.
FLORETS Fertile lemma elliptic (2), or oblong (1); chartaceous; without keel; wingless; 7 -veined. Lemma lateral veins ribbed; excurrent (1/2), or extending close to apex (1/2).
