Introduction

These are two utility programs which have been developed so that a user can check the Nomenclatural validity of a either a botanical species or a cultivar. The user is asked a series of questions regarding the name and its publication and is informed as to whether this agrees with the the international codes governing these names. These programs have been developed by the staff of the Grass section at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

The program assumes that you wish to check the validity of a botanical name. It runs through the principal requirements of the ICBN, asking questions about the name as it goes. It is intended only as a guide, to be amplified by consulting the code itself.

CultCode

The program assumes that you wish to check the validity of a cultivar name. It runs through the principal requirements of the International Code, asking questions about the name as it goes. It is intended only as a guide, to be amplified by consulting the code itself.
