Information for suppliers and Kew Brand Guidelines
Kew Gardens procures goods and services from a diverse range of suppliers. These suppliers play a critical role in supporting the day to day business and helping to safeguard the world's plant life for our future.
The Procurement Team
The Procurement Team provides the link between Kew’s suppliers and our internal customers and manages the commercial relationships throughout the procurement process. You can contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Standard terms and conditions
Royal Botanic Gardens Kew has a standard set of terms and conditions (pdf) under which we purchase goods. These terms will apply to all purchases unless there is a separate formal contract which overrides the standard T&Cs.
Contracts Finder is a free online service for finding public sector contract opportunities and viewing contract awards and contract documents.
The on-line procurement course Winning the Contract is a free resource, accessed via Learn Direct, to help businesses learn about public procurement and how to bid for public sector contracts.
Royal Botanic Gardens Kew has a Sustainable Purchasing Guidelines document (pdf) which explains how we will integrate environmental and social considerations into our procurement policies and practices. Although they are predominantly aimed at our internal customers, we have published them so that our suppliers can see how they can support the delivery of our corporate objectives.
The UK government timber policy requires government departments in England, including non-departmental public bodies, to procure wood and wood derived products from legal and sustainable sources. The policy is mandatory. Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew welcomes the government commitment to buying only legal and sustainable timber.
