Catch a glimpse of colourful kingfishers and secretive badgers at dusk.
Monday 12 and Thursday 15 August 2019
THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT
About the evening
Join us at dusk for a chance to spot woodland creatures in their natural habitat.
Our experienced ranger will take you on a tour of the woodland trails and hides in our Loder Valley nature reserve.
Visit our kingfisher hide for a chance to catch a glimpse of these secretive birds. We'll also visit our purpose-built badger hide, where you can watch these amazing creatures eat, play and forage. More about badger watching.
Part way through the evening, we'll take a short break in the woods to warm up with hot soup and a roll.
Please note, this is a wild landscape so we cannot guarantee what you'll see or hear.
- A degree of fitness is required as parts of the walk involve steep and sometimes slippery slopes; the end of the evening is in darkness.
- Good footwear is essential as is being prepared for our unpredictable weather. You'll also need a torch to navigate back. Total distance will be around 2 kilometres, which may vary on the night.
- Please note we cannot guarantee that you'll see a badger or kingfisher.
- No cameras allowed.
- This event is adults only. The minimum age to attend this event is 16 years old.
