Join our Nature Hero squad to learn more about birds and how to look after them.

This February half term, our Nature Heroes Pip, Bud and Sprout will take you on a fun-packed, nature-saving adventure around Wakehurst where you will learn bird-saving superpowers.
Discover how to talk to birds and nurture feathery friends in your own garden.
Grab a leaflet packed with fun missions – complete these to win a Bird Buddy badge for your superhero cape*. This is not just an epic cape, but a chance to show off the badges you collect, building up your Nature hero skillset!
Come back again at Easter and during school holidays, when Pip, Bud and Sprout will set you another Nature Hero mission to add to your collection.

Build a bird feeder drop-in session
Make a bird feeder to hang in your garden and get to know your new friends.

Learn to talk to birds workshop | 13 to 15 February 2023
Join bird expert and environmental educator Tom Forward to tune your ears into the sounds of Wakehurst and learn top tips on how to remember and mimic the songs and calls of our resident birds. If you perfect the technique, the birds will respond!
This workshop will include a chance to help assemble and install a split sweet chestnut bird box from locally-sourced timber – the perfect nesting place for woodland birds.
Price: £20 per child, 1 adult free
