My role is to develop a research team focusing on plant species conservation. As a central node for species conservation assessment activity at Kew I co-ordinate projects on Red List assessment of plant species, develop training packages to build capacity in Red List assessment and develop tools and techniques to scale up the production of assessments. I am interested in applying our knowledge of plant extinction risk to conservation prioritisation. This contributes to the delivery of one of the key science questions: What plant and fungal diversity is under threat and what should be conserved to provide resilience to global change?
