Nicola Mills

I manage and support a team of Seed Collections Assistants in the processing and curation of seed collections. This includes overseeing the initial receipt and assessment of incoming seed bank collections, followed by the cleaning, x-raying, counting, banking and germination-testing of the received collections. If necessary, I oversee regeneration and harvesting of relevant collections. I organise and supervise the cleaning undertaken by volunteers as well as training visitors and new staff. I host visitors and conduct tours as required. In addition, I look into seed dormancy and germination issues in problem collections.
