I am responsible for day-to-day management and running of Seed Collections in the Collections Department. The section comprises three curation teams and delivers seed processing, curation of the conserved seed collections and seed sample distribution for the Millennium Seed Bank Partnership. I am also involved with the training of international partners in seed processing. In addition, research into seed dormancy issues.
I am CITES Liaison Officer and Plant Health Officer for the Millennium Seed Bank and responsible for ensuring staff and visitors are aware of, and adhere to, national and international legislation on the movement of plants and seeds globally. I also ensure the MSB maintains status as a Defra Licensed Quarantine Station for seeds and herbarium specimens.
