Alicia Musson
Laboratory-based Collections Curator
My role is to digitise the microscope slide collection. This involves creating high-resolution scans of slide specimens, curating associated data, and making all the information digitally available through relevant online portals. With over 150,000 slides in the collection, the work is mostly project-based, with priority given to digitising the parts of the collection that are most in demand. The initial focus was on CITES-listed wood species, and subsequent projects have included digitising sections of wood from the genus Acacia and sections of leaf from the Cyperaceae family.
