Applications are now open for fully funded PhD studentships offered by the London NERC (Natural Environment Research Council) Doctoral Training Partnership, of which Kew is a named partner.

The London NERC (Natural Environment Research Council) Doctoral Training Partnership brings together nine of the world’s leading research centres in environmental science. The Partnership fosters integrated training of environmental scientists in ways that cross boundaries between established disciplines. NERC’s exciting doctoral training programme builds on an enormous range of successful research collaborations. All Partners in the programme are engaged in a diverse range of environmental research spanning NERC’s science remit and are dedicated to developing enhanced environmental science doctoral training. 

Students have a unique chance to be based at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew for their research projects, utilising the world-class collections and facilities.

Projects based at Kew come under the following research themes:

  • Biodiversity & Ecology
  • Evolution & Adaptation
  • Past Life and Environments

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview in February 2016. Application is by an online submission form via the following website:
