Watch: Kew on Channel 5
Watch the fascinating new documentary series Kew Gardens: A Year in Bloom.
In a year like no other, Channel 5 was granted unprecedented access to Kew and Wakehurst to capture the fascinating life in our gardens throughout 2020.
The new four-part documentary series, Kew Gardens: A Year in Bloom, takes you behind the scenes of our world-leading horticulture and science, and includes never-before-seen footage.
Spanning a year, from winter to autumn, the four hour-long episodes each focus on a season at Kew and our wild botanic garden in Sussex.
You’ll get a glimpse of the important work our passionate staff do for our incredible living collections and their scientific research that has a global impact, such as our study into enset, the plant nicknamed the ‘tree against hunger’.
Delve into the secrets of our glasshouses, find out the daily tasks involved in caring for one of the most diverse plant collections on the planet, discover how the Tree Gang copes with mammoth challenges and see our resident sheep grazing at Wakehurst.
Go behind the scenes to see our teams grow giant waterlilies, witness a rare midnight bloom, handle devastating storms, harvest food from our Kitchen Garden, battle poisonous caterpillars and build our colourful annual orchid festival.
Kew Gardens: A Year in Bloom airs from Thursday 13 May at 8pm on Channel 5 for four consecutive weeks.
