Vibrant woodblock prints

This collection of vibrant woodblock prints of orchids was published in 1946, and is based on the watercolours of Zuigetsu Ikeda.

The ‘Rankafu’ prints are considered to be masterpieces in a technically demanding artform and this is the first major exhibition of the Rankafu woodblock colour prints outside of Japan.

Rankafu (translates as ‘Orchid Flower Album’) is on loan from the Collection of Stephen Kirby.
