Enjoy a rare chance to go behind the scenes at the School of Horticulture, the centre of excellence for horticultural and botanical education.

It was originally built as King George III's fruit store, before being converted into the Museum of Economic Botany by pioneering architect Decimus Burton.

That museum was opened to the public in 1847 to display 'useful and curious' plants and objects. Today it's home to the world's foremost qualification in botanical horticulture, the Diploma in Horticulture.

As part of Open House London weekend Kew researchers from the Mobile Museum project will be delving into the fascinating history of the museum and its collection.

Students of the notable Diploma in Horticulture will also present a display of their graduation projects.
