A decade of art

To celebrate 10 years of the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art, we are excited to showcase a range of artwork from Australian and New Zealand painters, including Susannah Blaxill, Paul Jones, Jenny Phillips, Celia Rosser and Margaret Stones.

This unique collection has been generously submitted by Dr Shirley Sherwood herself. The first exhibition, Down Under, was held in 1998 and triggered a new wave of work, culminating in the Florilegium of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney which is also on show in the galleries.

Excitingly, some of the illustrations are of plants now housed in the Temperate House, directly opposite the galleries, re-opening in May 2018.
