Join us for a chance to meet natural history illustrator Rachel Pedder-Smith and learn more about creating your own botanical art. 

Are you a budding botanical artist? Get tips on developing your own artwork, and watch Rachel demonstrate how it's done in the Marianne North Gallery. She'll also be available to answer your questions and give practical advice on botanical illustration.

About Rachel Pedder-Smith

Painting in watercolour with minute detail, Rachel has spent many years illustrating pressed and dried specimens within Kew's Herbarium.

She studied at Royal College of Art for her MA and PhD and has been awarded four gold medals from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Rachel's impressive paintings have been adapted into Liberty Art fabric designs. Her artwork was also selected to represent contemporary natural history painting in the Watercolour exhibition at Tate Britain in 2011.
