Please note, we have very limited availability for visits with education sessions this summer term but good availability for self-led visits.

We offer: 

  • EYFS to KS5 education sessions, led by a Kew teacher, for school groups, home educators and other educational organisations. 
  • Self-led visits for schools groups, university groups, home educators and other educational organisations.

Before you book: 

  • If booking an education session, please choose your session
  • Please be aware that education sessions timings are fixed and run from 10.30am to 2.20pm (except KS5). We will create an itinerary for you based on the availability of our Kew teachers. 
  • Check our prices.

  • After submitting your booking form, please allow 3 working days before you consider contacting us again. Please note that the office will be closed on Fridays to process bookings, except for urgent telephone calls (0208 332 5627) regarding visits that day.

By submitting this form, you become liable for payment in full. If you amend or cancel your booking you may incur fees (see our Terms and Conditions).

Alterations: During our busy period from March to July, we may not be able to accommodate changes to confirmed bookings. Schools remain liable to pay the relevant fees.

Please give 3 possible dates.

For education sessions, all dates must be at least 6 weeks away.

If you wish to visit on 2 or more different dates, please complete a separate form for each visit.  Similarly, if you wish to book different education sessions on the same day for different year groups (for example, year 1 for KS1 Amazing Plants and year 6 for KS2 Rainforest People and Plants 45 minutes), please complete a separate form for each type of session, noting in the Any Additional Comments section that the groups will be visiting on the same day.

About your accompanying adults

You must have the correct ratios of adults to pupils:  

SEN 1:1   EYFS 1:4   KS1 1:5   KS2 1:8   KS3 1:10   KS4/5 1:12 

  • Adults up to the required ratios (including those providing 1:1 SEN support): free     
  • Adults above the required ratios: £12

Travelling to Kew Gardens

Please note that schools travelling by coach will be provided with a scheduled arrival and departure time. This is due to borough-wide changes to traffic management that are designed to minimise environmental impact.

Your information is accessible by Kew Schools team and other teams at Kew involved in Schools related processing. We will use your information to deal with queries, to obtain feedback and to provide you with information that may be relevant or of interest to you or your school/ organisation. This may include sending you newsletters including details of new educational initiatives being run at Kew and Wakehurst and on Endeavour (Kew's online collection of teaching resources). Including, information about primary and secondary school conferences and competitions. You can choose to unsubscribe at any time from these newsletters by selecting 'unsubscribe' at the bottom of an email from us.

Booking information will be retained for 7 years to comply with financial legal obligations and you will receive updates from us until you ask to be removed from the list. Kew’s privacy policy explains what data we collect and why, how we use it and other information relevant to the privacy of your data.
