Ticket information

How to book

Book online

All visitors (including children under 4 years) must have their own valid ticket, which must be produced to gain entry to the event.

Pricing

Adult £14

Children (4 – 16) £8 (Free for under 4s)

Family tickets available. Discounts for Friends of Kew and Friends of Wakehurst.

The lantern making activity costs £4 per child. This is not pre-bookable, and is cash only.

Your tickets

After purchasing your tickets online, you will receive a confirmation email from See Tickets which is your entry ticket. The square QR code on the email will be scanned on entry to the event.

There’s no need to print your email, just show the email on your mobile. We recommend that you have the booking email and QR code on your mobile phone ready for when you get to Wakehurst, as mobile signal can be limited. Alternatively, you can print your QR code and a paper version can be scanned.

Your ticket can only be scanned once, so all members of your party must enter at the same time. Do not attempt to duplicate the email ticket as second and subsequent scans will fail.

Your event ticket does not include day visitor entry to the Gardens.

If you have a query relating to your ticket purchased by phone or online, please contact SEE Tickets customer services or call them 0115 896 0220 (standard call charges apply). Please note ticket enquiries cannot be dealt with by staff at Wakehurst.

Visiting Wakehurst during the day

Your event ticket does not include day visitor entry to the Gardens.

Daytime visitors will need to return to the Visitor Centre when the Gardens close at 3.30pm (last entry 3pm). If you have a ticket for Glow Wild the same evening, then re-enter for the event. The Seed Café at the Visitor Centre will be open throughout.

At the event

Access

The trail is just under one mile long and takes approximately an hour to walk round. It can be viewed from hard standing and/or flat gravel paths, which are suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

Toilets

There are accessible toilets in the Visitor Centre, Stables Restaurant and near the Winter Garden (approximately half way round the trail).

Wheelchairs, mobility scooters and buggies

Wheelchairs are available to borrow on a first come, first served basis. Two mobility scooters per evening can be made available, and must be booked in advance on 01444 894070.

Children's scooters are not permitted on the trail.

Dogs

Guide dogs or registered disability assistance dogs are allowed in the Gardens. Other dogs are not allowed.

What to bring and wear

The event is outdoors and there are no covered areas on the trail, so ensure you have sufficient warm and waterproof clothing. Whilst all access paths along the trail are on hard surfaces, appropriate sturdy outdoor footwear is essential.

In some areas the lighting will be low level (this is part of the experience).

Cash will be the only form of payment available for the lantern-making activity, outdoor food and drink offers and some retail options - so please plan accordingly if you wish to participate in these activities.

Safety

For safety reasons, no naked flames (e.g. candles, night lights, flares and lanterns) are allowed.

Photography

As per our ticket terms and conditions, we would like to remind you that as a ticket holder you are consenting to photography and filming by Wakehurst that may be used for promotional purposes.

Shopping

Please try and save any shopping until the end of your evening, as we cannot store your purchases at the Visitor Centre and it may be a nuisance to carry on the trail with you.

The exit will be through the gift shop at the Visitor Centre and the shop will be open until 9.45pm.

After the event

Please leave quietly at the end of the event out of consideration for our neighbours.

Place all litter in the bins provided.

Refunds/event cancellation

Wakehurst/Kew and its ticketing partners See Tickets and Ticketmaster are unable to exchange tickets once purchased. We are also not able to offer refunds/duplicates on unwanted/lost tickets.

Inevitably bad weather can affect any open-air event. If we have to cancel the event as it is unsafe to proceed, visitors will be offered an alternative date/time in a priority booking period for Glow Wild 2019. No refunds will be offered simply if the weather is inclement. Any decision to cancel will be taken at midday on the day of an event and communicated via email and text by SEE tickets directly – information will not be provided by Wakehurst.

If the event is cancelled by us due to unsafe weather conditions and visitors are not able to redeem a replacement ticket for the 2019 event, a refund will be considered.
