INFLORESCENCE Inflorescence a panicle.

Panicle contracted; lanceolate; 11–15 cm long; 2–3 cm wide.

GLUMES Glumes persistent; similar; exceeding apex of florets; thinner than fertile lemma. Lower glume linear, or lanceolate; 30–37 mm long; 1 length of upper glume; hyaline; without keels. Lower glume primary vein ciliolate. Lower glume apex acuminate. Upper glume linear, or lanceolate; 30–33 mm long; 2 length of adjacent fertile lemma; hyaline; without keels. Upper glume primary vein ciliolate. Upper glume apex attenuate.

FLORETS Fertile lemma lanceolate; subterete; 12–14 mm long; coriaceous; without keel. Lemma surface pilose; hairy all along. Lemma margins convolute; covering most of palea. Lemma apex surmounted by a ring of hairs; with this appendage 1 mm long; awned; 1 -awned. Principal lemma awn geniculate; 45–55 mm long overall; with 28–351 mm long limb; with twisted column.
