Yushania qiaojiaensis

HABIT Perennial. Rhizomes short; pachymorph. Culms erect; 30–60 cm long; 4 mm diam.; woody. Culm-internodes terete; with small lumen; 11 cm long; striate; distally mealy. Lateral branches suffrutescent; erect. Branch complement several. Culm-sheaths deciduous; 6–7.2 cm long; chartaceous; hispid; with yellow hairs; without auricles; glabrous on shoulders. Culm-sheath ligule 0.5 mm high. Culm-sheath blade triangular; erect; 0.7 cm long; 1.5 mm wide; glabrous on surface. Leaves 2–3 per branch. Leaf-sheaths 1.2–3 cm long; glabrous on surface. Leaf-sheath oral hairs scanty; 1–2 mm long. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 0.5 mm long; truncate. Leaf-blade base cuneate; with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath; petiole 0.1 cm long. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 1–5 cm long; 3–6 mm wide; chartaceous. Leaf-blade venation with 4–6 secondary veins; with distinct cross veins. Leaf-blade surface pilose; hairy adaxially. Leaf-blade margins scabrous. Leaf-blade apex acuminate.
