Leaf-blades flat, or involute; 10–15 cm long; 2–4 mm wide; 2–4 cm long at summit of culm; stiff. Leaf-blade surface scabrous; rough adaxially.

Lower glume primary vein smooth. Lower glume lateral veins absent. Lower glume apex acuminate. Upper glume lanceolate; 4–6 mm long; 1 length of adjacent fertile lemma; membranous; 1-keeled. Upper glume primary vein smooth. Upper glume apex acuminate.
