Upper glume oblong; membranous; without keels; 5 -veined. Upper glume lateral veins with cross-veins. Upper glume surface pilose. Upper glume apex obtuse.

FLORETS Basal sterile florets male; with palea. Lemma of lower sterile floret similar to upper glume; oblong; 1 length of spikelet; membranous; 5 -veined; with cross-veins; pilose; obtuse. Fertile lemma elliptic; 2.5–3.5 mm long; indurate; shiny; without keel; 5 -veined. Lemma surface striate. Lemma margins involute. Lemma apex acute. Palea involute; indurate; without keels.
