INFLORESCENCE Inflorescence a panicle; terminal (1), or axillary (1).

Panicle open.

Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled. Pedicels filiform.

FERTILE SPIKELETS Spikelets comprising 1 basal sterile florets; 1–2 fertile florets (1); without rhachilla extension. Spikelets lanceolate (1), or elliptic (1), or oblong (1); subterete (1), or dorsally compressed (1); 2–2.325–3 mm long; breaking up at maturity; disarticulating below each fertile floret. Rhachilla internodes definite (1/1).

GLUMES Glumes persistent; exceeding apex of florets. Lower glume lanceolate (1), or elliptic; 1 length of upper glume; membranous; without keels; 5–7 -veined. Lower glume lateral veins ribbed. Lower glume surface without pits; glabrous (1), or pubescent (1). Lower glume apex obtuse (1), or acute (1). Upper glume lanceolate (1), or elliptic; 1.1 length of adjacent fertile lemma; membranous; without keels; 5–7 -veined. Upper glume lateral veins ribbed. Upper glume surface pubescent; with simple hairs (1), or tubercle-based hairs (1). Upper glume apex obtuse (1), or acute (1).

FLORETS Basal sterile florets barren; with palea (1), or without significant palea (1). Lemma of lower sterile floret lanceolate (1), or elliptic (1); hyaline (1), or membranous (1); 5–6 -veined (1), or 7 -veined, or 8–9 -veined (1); obtuse (1), or acute (1). Fertile lemma lanceolate (1), or elliptic (1), or ovate (1); membranous; of similar consistency above (1), or much thinner above (1); without keel; wingless; 5–6 -veined (1), or 7 -veined, or 8–9 -veined (1). Lemma surface unwrinkled; without grooves. Lemma apex obtuse (1), or acute (1). Palea present (1), or absent or minute (1).
