What is #AskAnArchivist Day?

Wednesday 4 October is #AskAnArchivist Day on twitter! The Archive team will be taking over LAA’s Twitter feed, ready to answer any questions about the Archives or Kew’s history. Archives all over the world will be participating and you can follow them through the hashtag #AskAnArchivist.

How do I ask a question?

To ask a question, you will need a twitter account. This is free and easy to set up! Then write a tweet using our Twitter handle: @Kew_LAA, or reply to one of the archive related tweets we’ll be posting throughout the day and don’t forget to include #AskAnArchivist.

e.g. @Kew_LAA What is your oldest item? #AskAnArchivist

What can I ask?

You can ask anything you have ever wanted to know about Kew’s Archives, history or archives generally!

  • How to find out more about your horticultural ancestors
  • What we hold in the Archives
  • How you could become an archivist
  • How we look after documents that are hundreds of years old
  • Where you can see our archive collections

We look forward to hearing from you!
