to collect seed with his team of locals, encountering hippopotami
and other wildlife. Their reward is the discovery of a
rare water plant from which seed has never before been collected.

Kew is home to probably the world's
largest collection of plant specimens kept in preserving
spirit. This needs regular maintenance
and some new specimens are proving particularly tricky.
