Cabbage Tree
Robinson Crusoe’s rare cabbage tree
plant has been grown at Wakehurst Place, and the
plants make a precarious journey to Kew for display, along
with specimens to be stored in the herbarium for research.
St Helena
Steve Alton, from the Millennium Seed Bank, makes a long journey to the
island of St Helena, via Namibia, on a special seed collecting
mission.
Trebah
Ray Townsend makes a trip to Trebah Gardens in
Cornwall, where some of Kew ’s trees grow to encourage biodiversity.
He plants some which he brought back from his trip
to Japan last year.
