What trees were due to be planted by the Princes?

The trees are Trachycarpus fortunei.

How extensive is Kew's collection of carnivorous plants?

Kew's collection has been built up over recent years and with specialist care now has over 225 types from around the world.

How can I find out about the Carnivorous Plant Society?

The Carnivorous Plant Society is a society which aims at bringing people interested in carnivorous plants together.

Where can I see carnivorous plants at Kew?

Carnivorous plants are in a special zone in the Princess of Wales Conservatory. They have also been the inspiration for many of the activities in Climbers and Creepers.

What is Climbers and Creepers?

Climbers and Creepers is Kew's indoor botanical play area designed for 3 - 9 year olds.

Can I see the leaf-cutter ants?

Leaf-cutter ants are currently not on display. Climbers and Creepers does have butterflies in Summer and bees.

Can I donate a plant to Kew?

We cannot accept donations of plants for plant health reasons. However,
there are many ways in which you can support Kew's work. Our 'How You Can Help' section gives details.

Is it possible to arrange a behind-the-scenes tour?

The research collections are generally only open by special appointment, but Kew offers a wide variety of tours.

Behind the scenes events are offered to Friends of Kew, and the public can visit on occasional Open Days which are advertised on our events pages.
