Frequently Asked Questions

Food and Drink

Can I bring a picnic and alcohol? Yes you may bring your own food and drink into the concert arena, however there are units providing a range of food and drink at the concert.

Can I eat in the Gold Circle enclosure? Patrons do not need to eat in their seats. A separate area has been designated on the Croquet Lawn, a short distance from the Gold Circle seating enclosure. Patrons can picnic here beforehand, and return during the interval. Picnic equipment may be left in the picnic area throughout the evening.

Is there food available to buy? Yes, good quality hot food is available and there will be a fully stocked bar. Food outlets will operate on a cash only basis unless you book a pre-concert supper in the Stables, where you may pay by card or cash. The number to call for this is 01753 626 910. (VIP hospitality and Private Gazebos are also on this number).

Timings

What time will it finish? The concerts end at approximately 10.10pm, though this will vary slightly from night to night. At the very latest, it will all be over by 10.30pm

When does the music start? The music starts at approximately 7.30pm though this will vary slightly from night to night.

Personal Items

What should I wear? It is recommended you bring some warm outdoor clothing in case of inclement weather. If sitting in the Gold Circle, we ask patrons not to put up umbrellas out of courtesy to other concert-goers as this does block views. Patrons sitting in the Gold Circle will be issued with complimentary rain macs.

Can we bring lanterns? For your own safety any naked flames such as lantern lights, barbeques, and barbeque candles are not permitted.

Can I bring furniture? Seating is provided for Gold Circle ticket holders only. For picnic tickets you are welcome to bring your own folding chairs, rugs, low tables. Gazebos and tents are not allowed.

Can we bring barbecues etc? For your own safety barbecues, barbecue candles and naked flames are not permitted.

Location

Where will the concert take place? The concert will take place on the lawn known as The Paddock which is situated to the west of the mansion and croquet lawn.

How far is it to the concert site from the car park? It is approximately 500m from the entrance to the concert site

How do I find the concert area? The concert area will be sign posted within the car park. The car parks will be lit in the evening after the concert is finished.

What direction are the performers facing? The performers will be facing North West.

General Ticket Information

Can I get in to see the gardens on my ticket? No, your ticket is for entry to the music festival only. For more information on visiting the gardens call 01444 894 066 or visit www.kew.org/wakehurst

Will I be able to walk round the Estate? No due to health and safety reasons, concert goers are only permitted access to the concert arena.

I am coming for the day - can I just stay in the gardens? If you are coming for the day, you will be asked to leave the gardens by 5pm (last entry is at 4.30pm). Gates for the concert re-open at 6.00pm.

Can I reserve a space in arena? If you have a Gold Circle ticket this gives you a reserved seat for the concert; for picnic tickets you have an unreserved spot on the grass. If meeting with a group of people, we advise you arrive in plenty of time to find a spot together.

Can I leave the concert site and come back in again? You will be able to get back into the concert as we operate a "pass-out" system.

First Aid

Will you have any First Aid at the concert? Yes, there will be a First Aid point at the concert. However, you should be sure to bring with you any medication that will be needed for the night

Adverse Weather

What if it is raining on the night - will the concert be cancelled? The performers are on a covered stage and the concert will go ahead. Only in extreme conditions, and a question of health and safety is involved, would the concert be cancelled.

What time would the decision to cancel the concert be made? Any decision to cancel will be taken at 6pm on the day of the concert.

Will I get a refund? No refund will be given if a concert is started but later abandoned. If a concert is abandoned before the start of the concert, you would receive a refund and should contact See Tickets on 0870 1600 539.

Disabled Guests

What facilities do you provide for disabled customers? Ensuring our concerts are accessible to those whose mobility is limited is of great importance to us. For the Music Festival we offer the following:

  • Disabled guests may access the site in advance of the general public at 5.30pm
  • A limited number of wheelchairs will be available at the entrance to the Music Festival. There is no need to pre-book.
  • Priority parking for blue badge holders is allocated nearest to the concert entrance for disabled customers. Parking spaces cannot be reserved and are available on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Accessible toilets are provided at the main block of temporary toilets
  • Guide and Registered support dogs are welcome.
  • The event site is accessed via hard surface and gravel paths. Whilst there are no steps, there are some steep slopes.
  • Approximate distance from the entrance to the concert site is 500m

Can I reserve a wheelchair? Wheelchairs are available at the Entrance Gate. These are available on a first come, first served basis. Please note that we do not have any mobility scooters available.
