Planning a VisitAccess Guide - Wakehurst PlaceParkingA number of parking spaces for cars displaying a disabled badge are available adjacent to the Visitor Centre. WheelchairsThere are a number of manual wheelchairs available for use by visitors, subject to availability. There is no need to book in advance. Please ask on arrival at the entrance. In addition there are two mobility scooters available, these must be pre-booked, giving at least 24 hours' notice. A short instruction session must be undertaken. To book please telephone 01444 894067 during office hours. Toilet facilitiesAdapted toilets (unisex) are available in the Visitor Centre; by the restaurant; beyond the walled gardens, and in the exhibition room of the Wellcome Trust Millennium Building. GardenThe gardens are large with many hard surface and gravel paths. A sizeable area of the ornamental plantings, lawns and water features around the Mansion is level via a gently sloping path from the entrance. The remaining garden and woodland areas have steep slopes and steps. A seasonal newsletter, including a map, is given free to all visitors and includes an indication of areas suitable for wheelchair users. Wellcome Trust Millennium BuildingThere is access to the interactive exhibition. Visitor CentreThis area is a combined shop, plant sales and Seed Café and is on one level. There is direct access to the gardens. RefreshmentsThe Stables (counter-service) provides a selection of hot and cold meals, with indoor and outdoor seating, and has easy access with ramps. The Seed Café has a selection of light snacks, with indoor and outdoor seating. If you encounter a problem, please ask a member of the Wakehurst Place staff who will be happy to help.
