Lecturer: David Wilson
7pm
Venue: Kew

Now, more than twenty years later, Home Farm is not only a successful and viable working farm, but is a flagship for the benefits of an organic, sustainable form of agriculture.

David Wilson has been Manager at the Duchy Home Farm since it was established in 1985. When The Prince decided to convert to a completely organic system, David took the farm through the process right to when it obtained full Soil Association accredited organic status in 1996. A very knowledgeable and engaging speaker, David will explain the ethos behind Home Farm which comprises 1,800 acres of organically managed land. 1,080 acres are owned by the Duchy of Cornwall and 800 acres are contract or share farmed for neighbours. The enterprises on the farm are dairy, arable, beef, sheep, pigs and vegetables.

Tickets: £5 (£4 Premier Friends – new lecture price from 1 April 2010)

This lecture has been generously supported by the Dr. H. Shawdon Charitable Trust
