Kew's garden in Sussex

Welcome to Wakehurst; beautiful botanic gardens located in West Sussex and managed by RBG, Kew. Set in 465 acres of country estate, Wakehurst boasts ornamental gardens, temperate woodlands, a nature reserve and an Elizabethan mansion.

Surround yourself in the natural beauty of the area, enjoy afternoon tea or learn about the essential conservation work of Kew's Millennium Seed Bank. With natural play areas for the children, and wildlife all around, there is something to keep everyone entertained.

50 Years of Kew at Wakehurst

50 years of Kew at Wakehurst logo

This year marks the golden jubilee of Kew’s management of the Wakehurst Estate.

Much has been achieved, from the Millennium Seed Bank project and the creation of the Loder Valley and Francis Rose Nature Reserves to the introduction of the Visitor Centre and the Seed and Stables restaurant. Wakehurst has become a world class visitor attraction.

We look forward to celebrating with you at our anniversary events taking place throughout 2015.
