Teacher review

'I rank this visit as one of the best learning experiences I've ever had in 30 years of teaching.'
Primary teacher, Broadfield East school

'We all had a wonderful day and appreciate the amount of effort and planning that resulted in this being such a memorable and worthwhile experience for all our students. We have heard many appreciative quotes from the students about our visit, such as “The best day ever!” and “I’ve loved every minute”, so a big “Thank you” from all of us to all the staff who made our day such a success.'

Teacher, Broomhill Bank

Use the 188 hectares of country estate at Wakehurst, West Sussex, as your classroom for the day. The estate offers:

  • ornamental gardens
  • wilder areas with temperate woodlands, wetlands and meadows
  • natural play features including a maze
  • an Elizabethan Mansion
  • the Millennium Seed Bank - discover how Kew is helping to safeguard the world's most endangered plants

School visits to Wakehurst are planned in detail with an experienced Wakehurst teacher prior to the visit and are tailored to suit the needs of your class.
