Star plants and fungi
Find out about the star plants and fungi that are featuring in this year's Tropical Extravaganza at Kew Gardens.
For four weeks only Kew's Princess of Wales Conservatory is transformed into a colourful sea of exotic plants.
This year's festival is inspired by the 'forces of nature' - fire, air, water and earth. The lush tropical landscape of the glasshouse contrasted with vibrant floral displays - fiery reds, yellows and oranges, shimmering silvers and blues.
Below are a selection of plants and fungi that you can see in the exhibition and that demonstrate a fascinating interaction with these elements, which can both create and destroy life.
