Kew's Olympic Symbol floral spectacular

This planted Olympic Symbol is in flower at Kew Gardens. It's 50 m long and easily seen from aeroplanes flying over the Gardens.

This horticultural spectacular was planted in the form of the Olympic Symbol to celebrate 100 days until the London 2012 Olympic Games. The Olympic Symbol was designed in 1913 by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games. It expresses the activity of the Olympic Movement and represents the union of the five continents and the meeting of athletes from throughout the world at the Olympic Games.
