Step inside the tropical paradise of Kew’s Princess of Wales Conservatory as it is transformed into a celebration of Brazil’s plant life and habitats. 

Admission to the Orchids festival is included with day entry to the Gardens. Book online to save. Tickets are valid for entry into the Gardens on any one day within 30 days from selected date. Friends of Kew enter free.

What to expect

Kew horticulturalise in the PoWC pond, setting up the Orchids 2014 display

Tropical colour

The Princess of Wales Conservatory will become home to a mass of tropical colour as it's filled with orchids, bromeliads and other tropical plants from Brazil and around the world.

 

Brazilian habitat

Through these displays and various talks, films and more, you will be able to learn about the diversity of Brazil's environments and flora and discover more about the work Kew is doing in Brazil to aid plant conservation knowledge.

Carnival theme

February is carnival season in Brazil and this year's Orchids festival will bring some of that vibrant atmosphere to Kew!

 

Don't miss:

  • 'Rainforest Tree' sculptures, covered in Oncidium orchids and bromeliads.
  • Documentary sceenings in the Princess of Wales film room (week days only, not shown during half term)
  • Margaret Mee exhibition in the Shirely Sherwood Gallery (from 20 Feb)

This year the pond display will be a true explosion of colour – a real carnival. We want to capture the essence of Brazil; take visitors on a journey through the biomes of this incredible country, while showing the range of conservation and science work that Kew is doing with South America.
