The Kew the Music Survey

After last year’s festival we ran a survey of people who attended. We were delighted with the response. Two thirds of you rated Kew the Music an excellent night out (with a whopping 96% judging it good or excellent). Many thanks to everyone who took the time to complete the questionnaire. Inevitably, there were some things you thought we could do better. Here are your top grumbles from 2012 and what we are doing to address them in 2013.

You had mixed views about the reserved enclosures and the standing area in front of the stage. Many of you said you liked these innovations and many did not. There was an equally lively range of views about the positioning of the reserved enclosures.

  • For 2013 we have… kept the site layout similar to last year but added more room to the north enclosure. The reserved enclosures allows people guaranteed access to an area in front of the arena. Seating in the reserved enclosure remains on a first-come-first-served basis.

Some of you complained about the long queues for entry and ticket collection.

  • For 2013 we have… introduced a 'print-at-home' facility for people booking tickets after 1 June. This will drastically reduce the number of tickets being collected on the day of the concert. We are also reviewing how we manage the entry queue. We hope you will find it a better experience this year.

Many of you wanted more food and drink options on site.

A few people were unhappy that we allowed the use of umbrellas and fold-up seats when it was pouring with rain.

  • For 2013... there is still an area where seats are not allowed, so that everyone gets a good view. Our stewards will again be briefed to use common sense on this one.

"The whole organisation and evening was fabulous!"

This was just one of the many positive comments you gave us. We're very pleased so many of you enjoyed Kew the Music 2012 and we're working hard to make sure Kew the Music 2013 is even better.

Many thanks to everyone who filled in a questionnaire. We're looking forward to seeing you all again in July, when we’ll be asking you once again for your thoughts on how we can improve your experience.
