Gardening for beginners

This one-day course is aimed at keen amateurs who want to improve their knowledge of growing and maintaining plants in their garden.

During this course, led by Christine Lavelle, you’ll learn about the essential conditions for good plant growth followed by a lecture and demonstration on soil preparation before planting. Advice will be given on plant selection and how and when to plant trees, shrubs and herbaceous species. The course will also cover the maintenance of established garden plants, looking at pruning, feeding and identifying pests and diseases.
