About the Exhibition

The next exhibition at the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art, Rory McEwen, The Colours of Reality, will showcase the botanical paintings and other creative talents of Rory McEwen (1932-1982). The exhibition will feature several pieces of his work which have been loaned from both his family's collection and other private collectors. This exhibition will provide you a rare opportunity to see many pieces of his stunning work and to learn more about his life.

Alongside Rory McEwen, The Colours of Reality, Dr. Sherwood has curated her own supporting exhibition, Rory McEwen’s Legacy: Artists influenced by him in the Shirley Sherwood Collection, and has carefully selected paintings from her own collection to show how he inspired many of the contemporary artists we see today.
