Kew's Explorer
Daily throughout the year
Tours start at 11am and usually run every hour from Victoria Plaza.
The Kew Explorer people-mover enables all our visitors to get an excellent overall view of the 300 acres of Kew. The current route, lasting approximately 40 minutes incorporates 8 stops close to buildings and areas of interest within the Gardens, and Explorer ticket holders are able to get on and off at any of the stops throughout the day.
Tickets & Prices
Prices from 1 March-31 October 2010: Adults £4, children £1
Tickets: Tickets can be purchased from the drivers, or at any gates or shops.
Kew Explorer Route
The Kew Explorer route goes to the following stops :
- Victoria Gate - for the Palm House and the Victoria Plaza shop and café
- Temperate House - for the Temperate House, the Xstrata Treetop Walkway and the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art
- Pagoda - for the Pagoda, the Japanese Gateway and Lion Gate
- Queen Charlotte's Cottage - the heart of the arboretum, and closest to the Lake and Queen Charlotte's Cottage (open Jul-Sept)
- Riverside - for the areas of gardens near the River Thames, the Bamboo Garden and the Minka House
- Brentford Gate - for Brentford Gate and the car park
- White Peaks - for Climbers and Creepers, White Peaks shop and cafe
- Orangery - for the Orangery Restaurant, the Broad Walk and a short distance to the Main Gate
We do recommend that you check daily schedules when you purchase your ticket or at the stop signs in case of any seasonal fluctuations.
