Rhizotron and Xstrata Treetop Walkway
The Rhizotron and Xstrata Treetop Walkway opened to the public in 2008 on International Biodiversity Day. It was designed by Marks Barfield Architects, who also designed the London Eye.
Stag Beetle Loggery
Kew’s stag beetle loggery was created to provide a safe haven for stag beetles, which are globally endangered.
Rhododendron Dell
The Rhododendron Dell is believed to date back to Kew’s early days. In around 1734, Charles Bridgeman created a sunken garden on the Richmond Estate (now the western half of Kew).
Azalea Garden
Kew created its first Azalea Garden in 1882, on the site of a former American Garden.

Director (CEO and Chief Scientist) of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to return to Australia

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew announced today that Director (CEO and Chief Scientist), Professor Stephen Hopper FLS will step down in autumn 2012 after six years in the job.
