Kew education sessions

Inspire and engage learners with our hands-on programmes – it's the best way to get the most from your visit. All our education sessions meet curriculum targets across a range of subjects including science, geography, art, maths, English and more. We can cater for different ages, abilities and learning needs.

Led by one of our skilled and knowledgeable teachers, the session includes:

  • hands-on, curriculum-linked activities led by a Kew teacher
  • small group sizes (15 per group)
  • entry for students and education staff for the day
  • a meet-and-greet at Victoria Gate
  • free entry for two teachers to plan their school visit

Self-led

Our basic visit package includes:

  • entry for students and education staff for the day
  • a meet-and-greet at Victoria Gate
  • free entry for two teachers to plan their school visit

New programmes for KS5

Our new Key Stage 5 education programme at Kew Gardens has been developed and designed for the new Biology and Geography curricula for A, AS level, BTEC and the International Baccalaureate students across all exam boards (OCR, AQA, Edexcel). The new programmes feature stimulating topics and brand new content linked to the new national curricula, and science at Kew. You can book a half-day of full-day with us and pick the sessions that most meet your groups requirements.

Lunch at Kew

There is a new "education groups only" external, sheltered eating area, situated opposite Climbers and Creepers. Look out for our "schools @ kew" flags to find us. We recommend visiting the toilets opposite and washing your hands before your timeslot. There are also hand sanitizers available.
