The Big Draw
Saturday 24 Oct - Sunday 1 November
Daily from 11am to 3pm
The national drawing programme, the Big Draw, returns to Kew for the autumn. Focusing on trees, there are three drawing activities every day. These workshops have been designed by Kew's experts working in collaboration with artists, giving you the chance to explore our scientific work through art.
So come along, join in and have fun, whatever your age! No need to book, just drop in at any of the three locations around the gardens. Locations are marked on the Autumn map you receive when you arrive here.

Tales amongst the Trees
Every Saturday and Sunday during October
Sessions run at 11am, 1pm, 2.30pm
Tree-themed storytelling sessions beneath the Xstrata Treetop Walkway. Join our storyteller on a wander around the area near the walkway to hear enthralling autumn tales. Sessions last 45-60 minutes. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Prices & Booking: FREE, but tickets required. Tickets must be booked on the day at any gate. Please remember to book your ticket BEFORE turning up for the storytelling session.
Location: Storytelling sessions start at the bottom of the Xstrata Treetop Walkway, and wander around the area of the Gardens nearby.
Woodcarving Workshops
Sat 24 Oct - Sun 1 Nov
Workshops at 10am, 11.15am, 1.15pm & 2.30pm
Children can learn how to carve wood with these one-hour workshops. Suitable for most ages, children must be accompanied by an adult.
Price & Booking: Workshops are free but places are limited. Places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis at the woodcarving workshop area.
Location: Halfway between the Palm House and Xstrata Treetop Walkway - pick up an Autumn map when you arrive at Kew Gardens for details on the location.
Climbers and Creepers

Mon 26 - Fri 30 Oct
Learn about trees and seeds at these FREE family activity sessions running daily during half-term week at Climbers and Creepers.
Pop in and see what’s going on each day. Sessions last 30 minutes, and are suitable for children aged 3 – 9. All children must be accompanied by an adult
Prices & booking: FREE, once inside Kew Gardens. No booking required.

Face Painting
Weekends in October and daily
during half-term (Sat 24 Oct – Sun 1 Nov)
10.30am to 3.30pm
Head over Climbers and Creepers to get your face painted. Choose animal and tree-inspired designs.
Prices: £4 per face, £7 for two!
